I created three LOTR pieces featuring some of my favorite duels in the movies -- This one is based on "Two Towers" (it was going to be for Fellowship originally, but hey, I can fudge it since Towers opened with the fight) :P

LOTR: Gandalf vs. the Balrog by *grantgoboom

The hardest part when giving Grant Gould a Fan Art DD was choosing the piece from the dozens of different fantastic fandoms, characters and images in his gallery! Gandalf here won out because it's such a fabulous cartoon likeness, capturing the character's personality in a few clean lines - but if you're part of ANY fandom, it's well worth taking a look through Grant's gallery, as you're sure to find something you like. I love the comicy style you used here! Such a great drawing amalgamation between Peter Jackson's vision and your own. I would say that this Gandalf is definitely based on Ian McKellen, but there is definitely something special about it that makes him a more universal, ambiguous figure. He's not just an action figure of Mr. Ian, if you know what I mean, and I think that is a superb quality. It allows for different and varying ways of connecting with the character itself.

Did I mention I LOVE this style? It's so good.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become character.
Watch your character: it becomes your destiny.

...Fav... why? I LOVE this!
Gandalf rules!

Why don't you make it print available? I would like to get a version of this to one of my firends who LOVES Gandalf.

mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.
